This entire movie takes place inside a military detention camp the Libyan desert. It’s a completely character driven story, there’s no action, just five prisoners, sadistic guards, sand and heat, that’s basically it. This is a movie about men, about their struggle to survive and how we as humans work on a physiological level. Some of the guards are using excessive violence and punishments, and when one of the inmates end up dead questions start to rise.

The acting is what makes this movie so great, the protagonist is played by Sean Connery and he delivers an excellent performance, maybe his best? Not sure how much I can say without spoiling anything, but this movie has one of the best endings I’ve ever seen.
